Payback Time
Scangrip has introduced the concept "Payback Time" for a range of our products. "Payback Time” estimates how long payback time the customer can expect when purchasing the product in question. The premises for our calculations depends on the type of tooling and is based on some general assumptions for the time used for the actual operation. The calculations also appears from our Product Catalogue 2011.

Payback Time for LINE LIGHT lift lighting
LINE LIGHT
Buying SCANGRIP lift lighting (sales price €595) instead of traditional fluorescent tube lift lighting (sales price € 525) will be payed back after a little more than 3 years only because of saved costs to electricity as the consumption is half.
The calculation is based on electricity expenses of € 0.192 per Kwh, 220 working days per year. In addition SCANGRIP lift lighting is unbreakable and expenses to replacement tubes and covers are avoided

With this tool 19 minutes is saved with each operation of removing the spring from the strut compared with using a traditional toll (two spindles with hooks). Assuming that the tool is used 8 times a month. Recommended sales price 718 €. One man/hour=60 €.

With this tool 18 minutes is saved with each operation of removing the spring from the strut compared with using a traditional toll (two spindles with hooks). Assuming that the tool is used 6 times a month. Recommended sales price 494 €. One man/hour=60 €.

It is estimated that replacement of new brake discs costs 260 € (4 new discs of each 35 € + 2 man hours of each 60 €). Estimated labour costs for machining the discs is 80 € (1 h 20 min). Assuming the machine is used 10 times a month. Recommended sales price 6.578 €.

It is estimated that replacement of new brake discs costs 260 € (4 new discs of each 35 € + 2 man hours of each 60 €). Estimated labour costs for machining the discs is 80 € (1 h 20 min). Assuming the machine is used 11 times a month. Recommended sales price 5.715 €.

It is estimated that replacement of new brake discs on a two axle truck costs 1,720 € (4 new discs of each 175 € + 12 man hours of each 85 €). Estimated labour costs for machining the discs is 170 € (2 h). Assuming the machine is used 3 times a month. Recommended sales price 9.953 €.
Payback Time for ULTRASONIC Leak Detection Equipment
The payback time for the ULTRASONIC leak detection equipment is based on a calculation estimating your profit from a leakage search on a yearly basis. Provided you find and repair possible air leaks in your production facilities it would lead to a considerably saving of energy and, thus, a considerably saving of your annual electricity expenses.
The calculation for all 3 products is based on 1,600 operating hours a year and a leakage size of 840 l/min, which makes the annual expenses for air leakages amount to 1,970 €. (Price per m³ air = 0.0246).
